Landamerki fyrir jörðinni Mánaskál liggjandi í Vindhælishreppi í Húnavatnssýslu eru sem hjer segir: Að norðan ræður Balaskarðsá, og úr henni bein lína í vörðu á miðjum Þröskuld, þaðan í læk, sem fellur austur í Mjóadalsá, og ræður svo Mjóadalsá að austan landamerkjum, suður á móts við svo nefnda Smjörskál eða lækjargil, sem liggur ofan úr áður nefndri Smjörskál. Að sunnan eru merki úr Smjörskál beina línu vestur yfir fjall í Tröllaskarð, vestan í fjallinu, þaðan ræður lækur, sem fellur úr því í Laxá. Að vestan ræður Laxá þangað til áðurnefnd Balaskarðsá fellur í hana.
