Nyrsta býlið í Víðidal byggt á Landnámsöld. Land jarðarinnar er mikið og liggur meðfram Gljúfurá frá ósi fram að Hólagili, sem er austanvert í Víðidalsfjalli.
áður fyrr náði sameiginlegt land jarðanna Miðhóps og Grafar allt fram að Rófuskarðsá. En snemma á öldum gekk svonefnt Þingeyrarselsland til fullra nytja Þingeyrarklausturs.
Jörðin þá eign klaustursins og síðar konungs. Síðan að fullu aðskilið heimajörðum með dómi um miðja 19. öld.
Íbúðarhús byggt 1967 ein hæð 355 m³. Fjós fyrir 12 kýr. Fjárhús fyrir 500 fjár. Hlöður 2300 m³. Votheysgryfja 43 m³. Tún 28 ha.
