History
Friðmundarvötn eru á Auðkúluheiði í A-Húnavatnssýslu. Austara-Friðmundarvatn er 2,36 km², dýpst 1,15 m og í 436 m hæð yfir sjó. Það er svo mikil leðja í botni þess, að það má heita óvætt.
Vestara-Friðmundarvatn er 6 km², dýpst 2,25 m og í 441 m hæð yfir sjó. Mjóilækur rennur í það að sunnan en Fiskilækur úr því til Gilsvatns í norðri og síðan í Blöndu. Í vötnunum er bæði bleikja og urriði. Fyrrum veiddist mikið í net. Kjalvegur liggur rétt við vötnin. Vegalengdin frá Reykjavík er u.þ.b. 240 km um Kjöl og 60 km frá Blönduósi.
