Austur-Skaftafellssýsla var ein af sýslum Íslands. Sýslur eru ekki lengur stjórnsýslueining á Íslandi, en nafnið er enn notað til að vísa til svæðisins.
Austur-Skaftafellssýsla er á milli Vestur-Skaftafellssýslu og Suður-Múlasýslu, sýslumörkin á Skeiðarársandi og á Lónsheiði.

Sóknir í sýslunni voru lengst nefndar, talið frá austri:
1) Stafafellssókn,
2) Bjarnanessókn,
3) Hoffellssókn,
4) Einholtssókn,
5) Kálfafellsstaðarsókn,
6) Hofssókn
7) Sandfellssókn.
Hoffellssókn og síðar Sandfellssókn lögðust niður. Kirkjan í Einholti var flutt, og síðan var yfirleitt talað um Brunnhólssókn (finnst þó í heimildum kennd við bæinn Slindurholt). Ný sókn myndaðist í kauptúninu: Hafnarsókn.
