Jón Pálmi Karlsson fæddist á Mosfelli í A-Hún. 9. jan. 1922. Hann lést á Hjúkrunarheimilinu Seli á Akureyri sunnudaginn 25. júlí síðastliðinn. Pálmi fluttist til Akureyrar 1937, þá 15 ára gamall. Vann ýmiss konar störf, en lengst af sem bifreiðastjóri hjá Akureyrarbæ og Bifreiðastöð Oddeyrar.
Pálmi verður jarðsunginn frá Akureyrarkirkju í dag 3.8.2004 og hefst athöfnin klukkan 13.30.
