Rústir eru bungur í landslagi freðmýrar, sem myndast þannig að jarðvegsyfirborð hækkar þegar íslinsa myndast í fínkornóttum jarðvegsefnum undir einangrunarlagi, t.d. mólagi. Fyrsta stig rústar er allstór þúfa, næsta stig er þegar jarðvegur og gróður tekur að veðrast burt á hliðum rústarinnar og síðasta stigið er þegar myndast tjörn þar sem íslinsan hafði áður verið. Rústir eru flokkaðar sem stöðugar, óstöðugar og staðnaðar eftir því hvernig gróður vex á þeim.
