Biographical history
Jón Ísberg fæddist í Möðrufelli í Eyjafirði 24. apríl 1924. Hann lést á Fjórðungssjúkrahúsinu á Akureyri 24. júní síðastliðinn. Jón varð stúdent frá M.A. 1946, Cand. juris frá Háskóla Íslands árið 1950 og stundaði framhaldsnám í alþjóðarétti við University College í London 1950-1951. Hann var fulltrúi sýslumannsins á Blönduósi 1951-1960 og sýslumaður Húnavatnssýslu 1960-1994. Jón var virkur í fjölmörgum félagasamtökum í sinni heimabyggð, þ.ám. skátafélaginu, skógræktarfélaginu og Lions, og sat nær samfellt í hreppsnefnd Blönduóshrepps frá árinu 1958 til 1982. Hann var gerður að heiðursborgara Blönduósbæjar árið 2004.
Útför Jóns fer fram frá Blönduóskirkju í dag, 3. júlí, kl. 14.
