Sambýlismaður Guðrúnar, Björgvin Th. Jónsson, lést fyrir mörgum árum. Fóstursonur þeirra er Örn Berg, kvæntur Ragnhildi Gröndal Ragnarsdóttur. Þau eignuðust þrjá syni og barnabörnin eru fimm.
